My Question or Issue

When in album art view and the screen dims, i.e. when entering or exiting a tunnel, the view is shifted back to playlist mode.

Hi @AgentAnguz,

 

Thank you for sharing your post on the Community.

 

To start, we suggest you run a reinstall of the Spotify app on your Android Automotive. 

 

Also, it's worth checking that the Spotify app is not selected in the battery saving settings, as they may affect it's performance.

Hi.

App reinstalled but same issue still occurs.

Unfortunately, there are no Battery settings in the Polestar 2 AAOS.

Are there any other settings that control brightness/ contrast automatically on the device?

There is autodimming in the car, but it can't be locked/disabled.

We haven’t seen any similar posts about this issue and it'll be difficult for us to look into with everyone working from home. Is this something that started happening recently after an update or did the app always behave that way?

Hi!

This happens across plattforms as well. YouTube Music alongside Spotify does this while entering a dark underpass or tunnels. What happens? Well, while listening to a song, with the song previewd on the screen, entering an underpass or tunnel, the app suddenly returns back to the playlist on the previous page. This happens simultaneously as the screens dim. Very strange indeed. Been so for over a year in my Polestar 2.

Since this is happening across platforms, it indicates that the issue is related to the car infotainment system and/or Android Auto and how they're interacting with the APIs.

 

In this case, we suggest reaching out to the manufacturer for further info on this matter.
