[Android][Playlists] Manual Blacklist

[Android][Playlists] Manual Blacklist

At the moment, users cannot view which songs/artists they've chosen to blacklist.

Blacklists also expire, meaning if I don't like a certain group & I tell you, after a year I'll have to reblacklist that group again.

Besides, the feature of blacklisting an entire artist at once has either been removed or relocated & I cannot find it anymore.

I propose instead, allowing users to manually see and change what they have blacklisted. Instead of the current system where I'm only allowed to say which individual songs on premade playlists I would like removed for that specific premade playlist.

The reason being, I don't want to remove a song or artist from only 1 playlist. I do not want spotify to recommend certain songs or artists ever.

Not to mention, since the daily playlists are 6 individual premade playlists, if I blacklist an artist that a premade playlist is based off of, one of the other 5 daily playlists will be based off that group that I'm trying to remove.

Hi @budanz,

We've moved your post to this help board as it fits better its content.

You can block artists from playing in any playlist, this can be done only from the mobile app. Go to the artist’s page, tap on the 3 dot menu and select “Don’t play this”.

You can block songs only from playlists created by Spotify or other users. Enter the playlist, tap on the 3 dot menu next to the song’s name and select “Hide this song”.

To see the songs you’ve disliked, please head to this article. However, it's not possible to see which artists you have thumbed down. In this case, you need to manually search the artist's profile and undo the block.

Lastly, since your personalized playlists are updated on a daily or weekly basis, they will pick up the changes made to blocked songs/artists after that time.

Hope this clears things up. Don't hesitate to reach out again if you have questions.
