Thanks for your answer. It was indeed a Google related problem, I had to go in the Google Home app parameters under "music" and unlink an old Spotify free account that was there for some reason even though I haven't used it or logged in it in over 2 years... The problem seems to be solved, thank you for your help, I hope this can help others with the same problem.

Hey @chris259,

Thanks for reaching out.

As a first step, can you please make sure you're logged into the correct account in your car? If yes, then try logging out and back in a couple of times to force a re-sync.

If the issue persists, try reinstalling the app and let us know if this is the first time you're using Spotify in your car.

Let us know how it goes.

Hi thanks for your answer.
I'm not sure what account you are referring to, but there is only one phone paired with my car, so it re-syncs every time i get in the car.
I reinstalled the app on the phone, and I've been using Spotify in this car for 2 years now. The issue appears when i try to vocally ask for a song title to be played, it always answers (translated from french) : " the song selection is reserved for spotify premium members, why don't you try this radio instead on spotify".
Then it proceeds to play sometimes the song i was asking for, sometimes not.

Thx.

Hey @chris259,

Thanks for the clarifications.

It's important to make sure you're logged in on the right account, because sometimes users are logged in on a free account although they have a Premium one. Here is how to check what's the case on your end.

Let us know how that went.

Cheers!

Hi, I have only one account and there are no commercials between songs. it says premium in the profile.

Hey @chris259,

Thanks for the reply.

What is the brand and model of the car? Did the car head unit come with a preinstalled Spotify with a logged in on account?

Keep us posted.

Cheers!

Hi,

Its a Kia Stonic, I bought it new 2 years ago. It uses android car so nothing comes installed with the car it is just mirroring the phone.
It was only ever used with my phone, that is connected to my premium spotify account

Hey @chris259,

Thanks for letting us know!

It seems to me that this is a Google-related issue so let's try unlinking your Google and Spotify accounts and then reconnecting them again for good measure first.
