My Question or Issue

Every time I either connect my headphones with the Spotify app open, or open the app with my headphones already connected, it automatically starts playing whatever it was last playing, and it asks me if I'm in a car. I've already set the "switch to car mode" option to "never," but this only stopped the app from automatically entering car mode when my headphones connected. How do I make it stop autoplaying and asking me to switch to car mode?

Hey @BeGlorious,

Thanks for posting.

It's possible that some of app files have gotten corrupted and this is causing the behavior you're describing. Let us know if this issue persists once you've performed a clean reinstall on the affected device. We recommend this step since it'll get you the latest app version with all necessary updates and remove any corrupted files from previous installations. Afterwards it's a god idea to fully unpair your headphones from your phone and reconnecting them anew.

Hope this helps. Keep us posted on how it goes.

Thanks for trying, but doing a clean reinstall hasn't helped me.

Hi @BeGlorious,

Thanks for getting back in touch.

Could you let us know if this has always happened, or if it started happening after a specific event? Additionally, we'd like to know if the issue only occurs with Spotify or with any other apps too.

On another note, we suggest that you try with another set of non-Bluetooth headphones to check if the issue persists.

We'll be on the lookout for your response.
