App not working correctly on Samsung Galaxy S8

So I've been using the app fine, up until I was trying to follow a friend. She mentioned the ability to follow other users and there was no option on the app for that. A friend that has a different Android phone showed me what the Spotify app looked like on his phone and it's totally different.

 

There was a radio option, find friends options, etc. Is the app broken on the Galaxy S8 or did they just remove a bunch of features? I've signed up for an account with and without Facebook and could see no differences.

Hmm, that sounds odd.

It seems that you might got an old version of your Spotify app. Have you tried reinstalling your app? If not here's a step by step tutorial.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app 6 times, created different accounts, etc and yeah I'm missing a bunch of features unless they removed a lot of stuff for the S8 app or something....

1. Exact Device (e.g. Samsung Galaxy 4)

2. Exact operating system (e.g. 4.4.2)

3. Spotify app version installed (2.0.0)

4. About how many playlists do you have?

1. Samsung Galaxy S8

2. Android 7.0

3. Version 8.4.35.152

4. 0 now. I've opened and closed accounts to try and see if that fixed it.

Hopefully that helps since this is so weird I'm missing out on so many normal functions of the app.

I have S8 too,

 

and spotify fails to start. I have been facing this problem for three days now! I also did install , uninstall bit!

I have more than 15 playlists!

Thanks for reaching out on the Community about this.

 

It sounds like you might be part of a test if you're seeing a different version of the app to your friends. We're always testing things in order to improve Spotify; there's more info here about it.

Ok so why am I seeing so fewer options then? That really sucks that everyone I know has a better app than me because I barely have any features currently. Isn't that weird? Can I opt out of that?

Any updates or anything?
