Artist Page Doesn't Load in New UI

My Question or Issue

The new UI is horrible. Not only is it less intuitive and less functional, it is not easy to use and is way buggier than the old. Some of us have absolutely no interest in podcasts too. So for the love of God, please bring back the old UI, or at least give us the option to switch between them.

In this terrible new UI, clicking on an artist in my library opens a panel that more than half the time doesn't load anythign at all and remains blank. I have to go 'back', then click the artist again, sometimes multiple times, to even get my songs to appear.

This page also consistently goes blank when I bring my phone out of standby mode. When the display turns back on, the page is empty and I have to do the same thing again, just to switch to a different specific song from the artist.

Not to mention that there are songs appearing in my library which shouldn't be there (a bug for a different thread), and the new follow scheme for artists is ridiculous.

This is horrible and broken. I was loving Spotify until this 'new UI'. Please fix this, and maybe the new UI would be bearable.

I also have a simular issue where the artist page takes forever to load, and when it finally finish loading, it simply display an empty screen with the artist name to the top.

Edit: I don't know exactly what changed, but the black screen bug has stopped appearing for me.

I have a similar issue. In my library, if I have an Artist with more than 50 downloaded songs, the page doesn't load and remains blank. Please solve this bug, it's really annoying have to wait an eternety just to switch between songs of the same artist.

UPDATE: I've discovered that if I turn my phone horizontally, it kind of forces the Artist page to load. It shouldn't work that way, but sometimes it helps to save some time loading the page.

I gett a blank page for artists that I only have one or two songs from too (and some times the Artist list only display a blank page after going back from a the artist page that didn't load).

I'm happy to see that I'm not the only one with this problem! The new library is just unusable for me.

As mentioned, in the Artists tab, if you click on the name of the Artist, nothing happens. The Albums tab sometimes works, but most of the time I just get the spinning ball.

Currently the only way I can get to play an album of my choice is to do a search for it.

I am seriously thinking of ditching Spotify Premium after 5 years as it is just unusable on Android at the moment.

Just had a chat with Support where they directed me to pages for checking the new features of the UI and to add feature requests on the community. As you guys, I also asked for the old UI to be back.

Besides the buggy artist page blank, wrong song count and removed albums still showing are clear examples this is a buggy release.

The need to follow artists for them to show and be sorted on the artists page is a bad feature as well. 

Let us hope Spotify listens and acts.

Same thing happening with me, before the new update the I already had a similar issue with the artist and albuns page but if I went back and tried opening it again it would immediately open, now I can't even go back when on this blank screen, also it didn't take a full 10s like it does now.

Artist page wasn't loading for me for the past few weeks in the old UI. It continues to not load with the new UI as well; which was updated today for me. Lot's of problems with this new UI functionally speaking. It is half baked.

Yup I've noticed this happening pretty frequently as well. Also happens occasionally when clicking on albums or playlists. Even pausing music is buggy. God this whole update is a huge mess. CHANGE IT BACK ALREADY!!!

Me and my wife both have the exact same issue, this has rendered the app completely useless. Do they even bother to test these UI changes before they release them?

Spotify, reverse the UI changes or fix the app!

I'm so happy that I'm not the only one in this scenario. For me, an album's page is also blank, as well as an artist's.
