Audio drops only when connected to car

My Question or Issue

When listening to any playlist when my phone is connected to my cars bluetooth, any song change or anytime I Heart a song the audio drops for a few seconds. The song is still "playing" but no audio is playing. This is really annoying when listening to a shuffled playlist cause the song transitions are choppy with a few seconds of silence. 

This audio drop only occurs when connected to my car (2016 chevy cruze lt rs) via bluetooth (ChevyMyLink). I have several bluetooth speakers that work perfectly and offer seamless playback ( 3 different mini h20 3s, Universal Ears Boom 2, Oontz angle 2.)
