BUG FIX for issues with switching tabs and getting brought to the top of a playlist without my

I'm actually submitting a bug fix, and I wasn't able to find at all the correct spot to submit it, so I hope this is able to reach someone. I'm having a bug: if I'm on a large playlist with a ton of songs and I'm scrolled far down, and if I switch tabs and then switch back to spotify, it resets me to the same spot near the top of the playlist. It gets really aggravating when I'm switching through songs at the bottom of the playlist and I'm trying to do other things because it causes me to have to scroll all the way to the bottom every single time. This issue has been happening since November, and I've been hoping that it would be fixed by then, but I am up to date on the app and I'm still having the issue. I am on an android device, and I had this issue on my old phone S21+ and my new phone S24+. I know this isn't the correct spot to report issues, but it would mean a lot if this could get forwarded to the part of spotify that handles issues, especially since it's an aggravating issue, and I have not seen anyone else report this. I attached a video for this error. It's really short because there is the file size limit, but I hope it does the job of describing the issue. Thank you!!

Hey there @jacrobs

Thanks for getting in touch about this here in the Community. We moved your post from the Ideas board to the relevant Help board, where it fits better.

Just to confirm, is this only happening with large playlists? If so, keep in mind that having large playlists might affect the app's performance. In this case, we'd recommend splitting your large playlists into smaller ones to see if that makes the difference.

However, if it happens with all playlists, it's well worth running a clean reinstall of the app to get rid of any cached files that might be causing trouble.

Let us know how it goes.

I started out with your suggestions: it seems as though running the clean
reinstall seems to have completely fixed the problem! Thank you so much for
this suggestion, and I will note this for future errors.

To answer the question about the playlist size, this happened on any
playlist with about 100 songs or more, and if only I was scrolled down past
the 100th song in the playlist. It never happened before November, and I
was completely fine with large playlists then.

Thank you again for your assistance. Clean reinstall seems to have solved
the issue!

Glad to hear the issue is now solved, @jacrobs!

The Community will be here if you need a hand with anything else.

Cheers!
