Black outline on icon after latest update

I was wondering if anyone else wasn't only seeing a black outline around the Spotify icon. 

Is a simply how they designed it or is my phone just showing at that way.

It wasn't showing that way before the update.

iOS always had it with the black border around it unlike Android.

They're always testing new ways to improve the app. Learn more here.

However, if you would like something to change about the icon, as @G_Loc suggest, add your support to that idea thread.
