Hello,
I used spotify a long time for free. Now I purchased a test-account in the hope I could listen to actors without any songs. But seems like I can't, because of some ugly geo-blocking.
For example the Band: SCANDAL or KALAFINA
I can follow the band and I can see that they have 23.966 monthly listeners but on my Smartphone I can't see any Songs. Why? When I click on 'radio' I just get an error message like :"Can't load radio channel at the moment".
Do you have any idea how I can listen to my favourite bands? My music taste is a little bit weird for a european, I listen mostly to Japanese/Chinese/Korean Music.
I purchased a test-membership for 3 months. I have premium.
Sadly I can't test this on my desktop, because spotify doesn't support html5 and I don't want to install the bloated client.
Thanks
Hi @sh1bum1, welcome to the community!
I'm sorry to hear about some of your favourite artists not being available to you. I know it's not funny when music is not available in your country, however it's not up to Spotify to decide this. The music label, artist, or legal owner decide where (and when) they want their music to be available.
There's not much you can do about it unless ask the artists to make it available in your country through their social networking pages.
Let me know if you need further help!
I am not sure why that music got suggested to you (maybe it just doesn't check if it's available to you).
I will ask around to give an answer on this question.
It really depends on the artist!
For example, Kalafina. If you click here you'll see in which countries they are available. Only in a few unfortunately.
This is a great tool for you to search albums availability!
You could try a VPN and it might work for you, but I shouldn't recommend it to anyone.
Hi @hillahiroshi,
As far as I'm concerned, using a VPN is not against Spotify's rules. We don't encourage you to use it though 🙂
Yes, your account is connected to your location, which might be hidden depending on the VPN you use.

I am currently in Japan and I still cannot listen to Kalafina nor to any other Japanese artists I like. I have premium, and yet I can't access my favorite artists though being in the country. Spotify is just full of gaps and mistakes. I will soon quit the contract.
