I have a problem with just searching in my own playlist, whenever I search for an song, it is always searching in all Spotify's songs, and not just in my playlist. And I would love to be able to search only in my playlist.
And then I also want hear about, is it at all possible to change the way the songs order, as you can on your computer where you can set it after the name or when you've added it, etc
In advance, Thanks for your help: D

Solved! Go to Solution.
I got the Samsung Galaxy S2 myself, and I have the excactly same problem. It's extremely annoying to not be able to search in my own playlist, as Iphone has this ability. I hope they will fix this fast!

Ctrl+f will bring up a filter box so you can search your playlist on Windows 😉

Both these things should have been considered "must haves", as in "if our app doesn't do this, it's not worth releasing". But unfortunately, while Spotify has a great service in theory, it sucks balls at making software.

I've just found this- you can search just your playlists: see here

Hello to you all,
I don't want to revive an old thread unnecessarily but I can't make Mike's link work for me so I can't tell if this rather basic feature has been implemented for the Android app yet or not.
I've been hoping for the ability to search within my own mobile playlists for a long time but I still haven't figured out how to do it.
Could you please tell me how?
Thanks a lot!
Although I do not own an android device, I am pretty sure from reading the community that it is not possible to search or sort playlists in the android client at current.

I suspect you're right, Peter.
After posting I discovered a Spotify Idea thread called "Mobile App Sort and Search" from April last year which points out these missing features.
And all Spotify has done since then is mark the contribution "Under Consideration".
I cannot believe the software team at Spotify hasn't given this a higher priority long ago. But then again; building user friendly and good software doesn't seem to be Spotify's strong suit...
By the way; why is this thread marked as solved when it quite obviously isn't?
Spotify build user friendly and good software, they just do it at a glacial pace.
Hang around for another 2 or 3 years and some of the features you're waiting for might get implemented.
maby to late lol, but when you are in your playlist you can hit ctrl+f, then you can search in playlist.

This thread is starting to do my head in 😞
Thanks for the reply u helped me 🙂
The thing is before your own playlists were included in general searches (on Windows at least), so it's confusing that they just changed that. I don't really see the point in creating a separate search for my playlists, but I guess Spotify is trying to make everyone "publish" everything they do, which is totally uninteresting to me...
That feature will be returning apparently, see this topic.

Am I missing something, or is everyone in the thread not aware that this was added into the android app a long time ago? In any playlist, go to the top and there's a "filter" field, which does what (I think) you want... definitely does what I wanted long ago when this thread started. If you want to be able to search all your playlists, simply make a top level folder (I call mine "Lists") and put all your playlists in there. When you go into that folder there's an "All tracks" item at the top. Go in there and then use the filter to search all of your playlists.
I don't know about smart phones but on my pc I just press Ctrl+F to search my own library.
