Cant start app

Cant start app

Hi.

When i download spotify app for android it says i need 496 GB of free space on my device to use it and since it's on a phone i dont have that space free for it.

I have tried to remove my devices when i'm logged into spotifty.com and i've tried to remove cache and saved data from the app and then unistall and reinstall it but it still says i need 496 GB free space.

What can i do to use spotify on my device?

Your phone's internal or possible SD space needs 496 GB of space. In order to get the space you need to play Spotify you need to delete things from your phone. The best and fastest way to do that is to download all your pictures onto a computer or laptop and then delete them off of your phone. Pictures are saved in many many layers and they take up a lot of space when stored.

Hope That Helps! 3 Have A Wonderful Day!

The thing is i don't even have phone or SD card storage that large so i wonder why spotify even tries to use that much data.

There is not even pictures or stuff to delete to free that space since it doesn't exist.

I'm totally confused. Where are you seeing this message, can you post a screen capture?

The spotify app is about 27MB. Heck, my new laptop doesn't have that much storage!

Post that screen capture, maybe with a bit more of an explanation of what you are trying to do and we'll take it from there.

This is how it looks when spotify app is installed, cleaned cache and data.

Wow. Something is clearly not right! Can you try the following steps to reinstall.

1. Uninstall the app from your device by going to 'Settings' -> 'Apps' then scroll to the Spotify app and tap on it. Once loaded press 'Uninstall'.
2. Using a file manager make sure any of the below folders are deleted if they still exist:

/emulated/0/Android/data/com.spotify.music
/ext_sd/Android/data/com.spotify.music
/sdcard1/Android/data/com.spotify.music
/data/media/0/Android/data/com.spotify.music

3. Reboot your device
4. Using a web browser navigate to the 'Offline Devices' section of the Spotify account page and then click on the 'Remove all devices' button.
5. Once all the above steps are complete go to the play store and install the Spotify Music app again.

Please let me know how it goes, thanks.
