Car mode works only when clicked in options.

Car mode works only when clicked in options.

The car mode (selected to always) switches back to regular every time the app is started again. Yes - in the car of course. Of course automatic mode doesn't work either.

Often the app requires me to run the app and click play instead the play function be triggered remotely over BT with my car audio.

I hit play on my car audio (which sends the play command to my phone) - no sound. Bluetooth connection works. Everything is paired. Why no sound? Because the app decided to play ON MY PC AT HOME instead on my car audio, when I'm obviously in my car, not at home. At home I use my PC to play music on my PC.

WHAT A SICK IDEA TO EVEN CONSIDER ANYONE WOULD USE THEIR PHONES TO PLAY THE MUSIC ON THEIR PC! WHY!? WHY?! WHY?! IT'S JUST CRAZY!

I want one very simple thing. I use my Android version of Spotify to one thing only. I get into my car, I hit play on my car audio and I want the Spotify to just play over Bluetooth. Nothing less, nothing more.

Definitely - playing on PC and Android (mobile) should be separated. I understand - it could be a super advanced option to run a party at home while being away (well, it's not entirely impossible scenario). However - the most default and normal thing is playing HERE AND NOW. On the device I'm almost directly connected. Avoiding using the phone speaker - this is super rude and unacceptable in public anyway. So - I imagine a car mode (especially set to ALWAYS) to play only when connected to car audio, and completely independently from my PC app.

Why? Let's find one difference between a house and a car, shall we? 😉 My house has a broadband Internet connection. So I use it listening to the music online. At least in my country - we still don't have broadband Internet connections in cars, and surely not ones that would work constantly while we drive across the country. So - I download my music at home (my car playlists), then I use it offline while driving.

But even when using offline, pre-downloaded playlist - the Spotify app happens to REFUSE playing saying there's no Internet connection! But most of the time - it rather works offline.

But then again - I come home and play some online music. Then if I'll go for a drive again and forget to reset the playlist - no music for me while driving.

Dear devs, please, use the app in your cars for a week. And go outside the big city for a while, because in big cities you probably HAVE broadband Internet on the road.

Hey @Adam1977,

Thank you for your post and feedback. We're sorry to hear that you experiencing this.

We suggest that you perform a clean reinstall of the apps on both phone and computer to make sure there's no old cache files causing this.

If the issue persist- can you let us know which versions of the app you have?

When it comes to the offline music - can you activate offline mode to see if that helps?

Keep us posted. We'll keep an eye out for your reply.

Cheers!
