Chromecast stops showing up in device list

Like half the time I want to listen to spotify on my chromecast 2 its not in my device list. There are two ways to get it back in the list: 1. Restart my phone OR 2. Go to android settings and unmark all permissions for Spotify and mark them again.

I did update my chromecast and spotify is up to date. When its not in devicelist other apps like netflix and youtube can find and connect to the chromecast.

What is wrong? Does anyone else have this problem?

Yes, I have two Google Audios that I am having the same issue, with a Google Pixel (Android 7.1.2) ironically. It's odd though, because I have an older Sony Experia (Android 4.2) that I use to control devices and it seems like it is always available on that device. That leads me to believe it might be a Android OS version issue. Clearing the App Data also fixes it, but usually you will have to download the songs all over again, and it is only a temporary fix. It sucks.

I have a Samsung Galaxy s6 with Android 6.0.1.

I will try reset app data next time. 

Does restart or turning permissions off/on work for you too?

Do you have the same issue with other apps?

You're welcome.
Restarting device sometimes works. I've never tried turning permissions off and on.
That's the only music app I run on Googleaudio. Netflix doesn't always see my Chromecasts, even though Vudu, Plex, and YouTube always do. Signing out of Netflix and signing back in, fixes that temporarily. I don't run Spotify on my Chromecasts very often.

Chromecast is one of the main ways I use Spotify, I've got 1 x Chromecast Audio, 2 x Chromecast TVs, and 1 other TV that's native cast-enabled, and Spotify hasn't been finding any of them for the last couple of weeks on my (ancient) Galaxy S5. It's been working fine for the last couple years.

I just tried removing and re-enabling all Spotifys app permissions, and that seems to have fixed it! Thanks for the tip! Now to see how long it lasts...

Still have this problem. My chromecast is not detected by Spotify.

Spotify version: 8.4.18.743 armV7

Phone: Samsung Galaxy S6

Android version: 7.0

Youtube chromecasting works fine.
