I deleted some tracks from my main playlist yesterday. Today I played that playlist and it still played the deleted tracks, dispite them no longer being on the playlist. I cleared the cache and forced stop on the app. I then went back into the app, picked the same playlist and pressed play. The first track it played was one that is not in the playlist and was one I deleted last night 🙄. Ghost tracks ? Sounds spooky, but rather annoying. Is it something I'm doing or is this another bug?
Hey @Keiron213,
Thank you for reaching out here in the Community.
First off, we'd suggest that you log out > restart your device > log back in to see if that makes any difference for you.
It's also a good idea to try clearing the play queue of your device as this looks like an issue with an item in the play queue at a first glance. Here is more on how to do that.
If this doesn't resolve the issue, could you please let us know if you experience this on other devices? In case you don't have another device available to test, use the Web Player instead to see if there's a difference.
Hope this helps. Let us know how it goes.
Hi @Lyunka
Thanks for that. I'll give it a try in a bit and let you know how I get on. It played 2 of the deleted tracks again today, two days after deletion. Thank god I've never loaded the ' birdy song' 😄 imagine never being able to delete it 😯😯...shocking 😁
Thanks,
Kieron213
Hey @Keiron213,
Thanks for your reply.
No worries, take your time to test @Lyubka's suggestions and let us know how it goes.
We'll be waiting for your reply 🙂
Hi @Eni,
Yes, that is sorted. Thank you for your help.
But..... following the update via Google Play yesterday, my tracks are once again stopping at the end of the track and when I press play, it plays the next three tracks over and over untill I click on another track.
This has plagued Spotify for over a year now. It's becoming a real pain. Especially if I am in the car and can't use my phone to click on another track.
A month a go you solved it with an update, then another update followed, and it started again, but stopped after a further update.
Here we are again though. Tracks stopping at the end of the track and on manually restarting it repeats the next 3 tracks over and over 🙄
Any ideas??? Clearing cache and forcing stop does nothing. It's all in your updates that cause it. It's not Samsung either. We went through that last time. It's definitely something in your updates.

Hey @Keiron213,
Thank you for keeping in contact and for the details provided.
We appreciate the time you're taking reporting this issue with the updates and its resolution. To continue investigating this case, would you mind including the OS version of your device and the Spotify version you're currently running?
Also, could you check on a different device (using your own account) to see if it makes any difference? If you don't have another one available, you can borrow one from a friend or family member to test it out.
We'll be on the lookout.
Hi @OscarDC,
Sorry I'm a little late in replying. I've been a bit under the weather. The OS version is 5.1 and the Spotify version is 8.8.36.522
I had a Google update for Spotify yesterday. Today it stopped a few times and did a new trick.
Because there have been issues with it playing 3 tracks over and over I rearranged my tracks by title alphabetically. When it got to the 'T's it stopped playing down my list and started playing 3 random tracks from my list, over and over.
It did this on Monday too, but I was on the motorway in my car so could not click on another track on my phone.
I've had another update to tonight. I'll see how it goes tomorrow.

Hi @ Susan_GP
I do update my phone every day at around 4pm. On Google Play and Samsung Galaxy store. It's always up to date.
Spotify stopped again today, but only twice. I've started making a note of which tracks are playing when it stops after the track. Perhaps there will be a pattern. It's not played the three tracks over and over though, thankfully.
I'll keep an eye...or ear, out and keep you posted.
Thank you for your continued help.
