Download over 4G

Solved!

Download over 4G

Hi

I have turned of "Download over 2G/3G".

But when I'm connected to 4G (No wifi connection active) I can still browse and play music that is not downloaded to my device.

But I can not download playlists to my device, only over wifi

How come I can stream music when on 4G, I guess this is not by design?

thanks

You can download it manually one by one. Tap on the song you want to download to play the track then wait a few minutes until the arrow down logo turns green next to the song. Proceed to the next song and repeat the steps. I had that issue also. Do you have an SD card installed on your phone?

Yes, it may work on a lot of songs but not all. In this case, U can connect the phone to a dummy wifi network (even without Internet access) and the phone will download the song using cellular data.

I have the same problem. It looks like we need a feature request to allow unlimited album, playlists etc. downloads using 4g data in 2017 you can have limitless LTE internet and data speed limit or monthly package limit are no longer issue in many cases. Please concider this in next update.

I've already enable it and still not downloading songs.

Premium user here and I'm having the same problem. It's really weird, you know.

C'mon devs, is it a bug? Or by design?

About the solution, why do I have to do such complicated steps just to get my songs downloaded.

What's wrong with just enable download songs on whatever the network available (and "Download using cellular" being enabled) ?

Exactly!

Hey, if you're using a dual sim phone, there's a known issue and spotify will only download over cellular if your data sim is in slot 2.

I am. I use data on sim 1. This could be the reason why I cant download. I
inserted my sim to another phone and downloaded using wifi.

Click on streaming quality on the settings main menu then scroll all the way down, it's under download quality

Streaming quality? ??

I follow the solution posts, but it still won't dowload. In my case, I'm trying to download songs that exist on my desktop and are in playlists. As I can control the playback on my desktop from work (absolutely useless feature), why can't I download from files available to that client? (Which would actually be useful.) If it's not meant to work that way and is not a bug, fine, don't prioritize that until the desktop version has an EQ in the client, but keep it in mind for after that.

that's it! Super!

I changed my phone and Spotify become a really great app. No delay no trouble of any sort. downloading over wireless network is a breeze. starting playback is intant. (not like waiting 3-4 min on my xperia Z5)

I thinks problem was entirely connected to my xperia z5 unit. now with xperia xz i am very happy with the app.

SOLVED: FOR ALL USERS
1. Go to settings (top right corner)
2. Click "music quality"
3. Scroll to the bottom
4. Enable "download using cellular"
Hope this helps!!! Helped me!!!!

Solved for everyone but me. I want to download Local Files from my desktop client over cellular instead of having to be in range of the local network via wifi.

You can simply take away your sim card
