My Question or Issue

Some time ago I had a decent list of tracks I had on my PC in local files to spotify, and then used spotify to sync the playlists and download them to my phone. A tragedy befell and my hard drive was dead, so the original downloads are lost and I can't listen to them anymore on my PC because the files are missing.

However, I can see the songs are still on my phone. I can listen to them fine. And I was wondering if there's some way to sync the playlists again or access synced local files songs on your phone so I can listen to the songs on my PC.

Hey @Funky666,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community and welcome.

The process for listening to local files has changed recently. Unfortunately, the new process of discovering local files on your device is no longer syncing the tracks with other devices, as the audio file must be stored on the target device for the app to recognize it.

This means that as the syncing process is not available anymore, if the audio file is not stored on your PC, the app will not be able to play it. However, a similar idea to include a syncing between devices has already been suggested here; feel free to show your support for it by adding your vote by hitting the “Thumbs up” button! We'd also recommend taking a look at its Status for more info. Any relevant updates about this will be posted there.
