EQ turns off intermittently

EQ turns off intermittently

Has anyone else noticed that the EQ will occasionally just turn itself off mid-playback? It turns back on again as soon as you go back into the audio effects settings page.

This happens while connected to speakers via bluetooth. I don't know if it happens when plugged in or not.

Odd! I haven't run into this.. But then again, I don't tend to use bluetooth with my Android device too much.

It's possible that it turns off when you receive a notification or message - Does it turn off randomly, or after you get a message?

I have noticed the same thing. I have android phone and it seems to turn off audio effects when random play chooses downloaded playlist song. But it happens also when I surfin in the net or use tapatalk forum app

happens for me too, constantly. turns back on when I go into audio effects, without even having to hit the switch (I hear the effect turn back on).
I find it stays on without problem as long as I keep Spotify open to the audio effects settings page at all times. makes me think it's android killing the eq process.

Same issue here. Randomly turns off and only stays on when on the audio effects page. I have a Samsung Galaxy S3

I've noticed that EQ turns of when data-connection switches on or off.

In combination with apps like Juicedefender, EQ will turn off shortly after the screen dims.

I di not know there was an EQ?

I have the same problem.

Audio effects turns of when screen dims.

Happens randomly, goes back on when i go to "Audio Effects"

Do´nt have to hit the switch, it is already on.

terribly anoying....

I have done all resetting and restarting you can do.

Must be some setting in Android to turn of running scripts when screen dims, anone got some tips?

Hi at all...

so i have the same Prolem with other Apps too.

I think its an Android-Problem.

Same thing happens to me. The only work around I've found is to leave the Audio Effects screen up and it doesn't happen. Even if the screen locks, as long as that screen is up when it locks, it's fine. But if another screen, like from another app or even the home screen is up, it takes about 10-15 seconds for the EQ to turn off. The screenshot I uploaded is the screen I have to leave it on to keep the EQ working. It's irritating but at least there's a semi-fix.

Hey there folks!

Thanks for reaching out to the Community!

Equalizer availability on Android varies depending on the manufacturer. Changes you apply to it also apply to the sound settings of other apps and the equalizer is controlled by your your operating system.

We can recommend that you check the phone's battery settings and make sure that Spotify is set as an exception if you're using the battery optimization option.

It's also a good idea to check that Spotify has the permissions to run in the background.

Let us know if there's anything else we can do for you in the meantime.

So I am having a similar issue more than 10 years later on this thread. My EQ settings will be on, but it doesn’t kick in until I either change a slider or turn it off and back on. It’s been happening for over a year now. I should note that I am currently using an iPhone 15 pro max. It has no other EQ settings other than in app. As such, this makes it an actual app issue.
