There use to be an obvious way to either close the mobile android app or to sign out. Now there is neither. There seems purposeful and quite unnecessarily controlling.

Why would I need to log out? because spotify monopolizes my bluetooth connection and will not allow me to play any other audio without blasting music over the top of it. No youtube, No phone calls, no local MP3s. Spotify allways plays over the active audio connection, pause spotify and it sends a mute signal to the connected radio preventing other apps from playing sounds, unmute the conencted radio, EVEN AFTER EXITING SPOTIFY and spotify starts back up, blasting music over the top of anything else you are trying to do.
Now I need to log out, and log back in to my music every time I need to make a phone call or simply pause my music and have any others sounds play from my phone? Far easier to log out once, uninstall the app, and use a better behaved application.
Hey @laglines! Welcome to the Spotify Community!
You can sign out on your Android device by heading to: 'Your Library > Settings > Log out'. Let me know how it goes! 🙂
Have a nice day!
None of the android apps I use have a "close" button. Android isn't Windows and sending apps to the background can reduce battery usage. Let the android OS manage your background apps and don't worry about it.
Alternatively, you can go to the list of running processes and stop or force stop all the apps you don't want running. No idea why you would want to log out of Spotify but you can always do so from the spotify settings (scroll down to the bottom).
Why would we want to log out??? What an odd question. Well, the same reason you sign out of ANY application. There should be an off button or logout button to stop it when your done listening to it. Love Spotify but not to have it on 24/7. This is ridiculous!
