How do I disable autoplay on other devices?

How do I disable autoplay on other devices?

I'm aware that there should be a setting to disable auto play on both my phone and 'other devices' however I don't seem to have that option in my app. I'm running the latest version 8.7.92.521 on Android 13, is there something I need to do to get this setting to appear so I can stop it autoplaying on my smart speakers?

Hi @paulmh5!

It seems that the way Autoplay functions has been changed recently for some users: currently, there's only one toggleable option in the Settings menu that controls both Autoplay on the current device and all other devices.

Note that the app's interface and features are bound to change over time as our tech folks are always testing out different alterations. This means you might see something on the app your friend doesn’t, or get a new feature to try temporarily. Still, it's worth logging out from the app (Settings > Log out) then signing back in to see if that does the trick. If possible, you can also try logging in on another mobile device to check if you'd have both options for Autoplay there.

Cheers!

Untrue.  You can toggle autoplay off on spotify and the moment you reconnect Bluetooth,  it stays playing! Reinstalling the app, screwing around all associated settings,  calling app support does absolutely nothing.  The root cause is Android.  But WHERE?  Give me an command line i can side load to DISABLE AUTOPLAY.

Head to Settings on your Spotify app (make sure it is the latest version), and then you can find the autoplay option under Playback. You can also disable Spotify's background activity so that you can stop Spotify autoplay on your device. You may find this setting on your Android phone's Settings > Apps > Spotify > Battery  Allow Background Activity.
