My Question or Issue

Since I updated Spotify to the most current version in the Google play store to "8.9.68.456" it's been a buggy laggy mess to use daily.

Everything basic you do such as going to albums, searching for artists, and just going to the home screen is all terribly delayed until eventually the app asks Android OS to either wait or kill the app because of the lag. Only force closing the app and starting a new session seems to temporarily fix the issue for a few mins then it gets progressively worse over time. Rinse repeat. It's like there is a memory leak or something going on, I'm not debugging this for you.

This is on me for updating constantly, next time I get a stable version of Spotify mobile I am turning off future updates for this app permanently.

It's always something new with you guys isn't it? Hire some better developers and QA engineers, this is seriously becoming an amateur hour.

I have the same problem. I did factory reset on my Sony XA2 Ultra and then installed the most recent version of Spotify. Spotify is slow and doesn't display all my songs. And it can't even play a song. Everything is fine on my PC and my other android phone (Samsung A55).

Hey folks,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community regarding this and sorry for the late response as we just came across this thread.

Since this issue could be caused by different factors, could you both confirm if you have tried a clean reinstall process to see if it makes any difference? If not, we'd recommend following the steps mentioned in this article.

Also, would you mind confirming if you have any SD card inserted on your device? If so, we'd recommend removing it, reboot your device and try again to see if the issue persists.

Lastly,  include in your next response the OS version of your device, along with the Spotify version you're currently running to continue investigating the case.

We'll be on the lookout.

I'm also on a Pixel phone (6 Pro) and have been experiencing this problem for months now. Today it's been so horrendous that I've taken a screen recording of it. This happens pretty much every day, but not all the time. The "Spotify isn't responding" doesn't always come up either.

Reinstalling has previous temporarily fixed this in the past, but it always comes back. Frankly I find it laughable that the default response for any issue with the app is to reinstall. Do you guys not do any upgrade / soak testing? Honestly.

I'm currently looking at alternatives to Spotify after having been a premium member for over 10 years because of this.

Please let me know if I can do anything to help debug this because it is so damn infuriating.
