Let me start off by saying I really like the new update. It works amazing on the PC and android but I do not know how to make all songs under "My Music" availible offline. It seems a bit silly that I would have to put the saved song in a playlist just so I could have it availible offline. This would make it so the removing of the star button would add more work. Maybe I'm just being an idiot and not seeing it.
Solved! Go to Solution.
Once you have set the download switch on the songs page, there's no need to touch it again. Any music you add to your library in future will download automatically.
what i have found works is saving all your songs to your music and also saving it to a playlist. In that playlist (since on MAC you can download playlists) you can download all the songs. That for me has made all my songs availabe offline.
Hey there! Welcome to the community!
To download music in Your Music : Your Music > Playlists, Songs, Albums or Aritsts > Click the three dots next to a listed item > Click Download. 🙂 Once selected, your music should automatically start downloading.
Yeah I realize this, but is there a way to automatically download everything that is added to "My Music" it is rather unconventional to have to individually click download on each individual song when perhaps I save 25 in a day.

Sadly, there isn't. I suppose this is not added due to issues it could cause such as accidental carrier data charges. Although, if not already listed, you could add the idea in the Spotify Idea section, here.
Maybe I'll do that, thanks for the inormation!

No problem! 🙂
Man im looking for exactly the same thing! It is so silly that there is no way to do this. Let me know if you find a solution. I am thinking of disabling my premium spotify account because they took away the star and didn't bring an easy way to donwload songs (which was what the star was used for).
Cheers and hope there is a solution
One of the devs said over here "Offline of all your saved Song, or really all of Your Music is coming soon as well".
Being new at this forum/blog stuff I'm not sure if anyone has answered with this solution yet.
I've done it by going onto my desktop Spotify and creating a playlist titled "Everything" or whatever you'd like to call it. Then after selecting the very top song in my "Songs" seleciton, scroll all the way down to the bottom, hold the select key on your keyboard and click the very bottom song. As it would in your windows explorer program on your computer it should have selected all of the entries, or songs in this instance. Finally, without clicking anywhere else in Spotify, click and hold anywhere within the list of songs, and simply drag them into your newly created playlist. Whenever I stumble upon a new song I like, along with saving it I just quickly add it to the playlist. Its an extra step, but the quickest way I've figured out until the next update.
Voila!
Hope this helps
So
How do you do this on the desktop app? I would like some music pre-downloaded so I can game without having 1MB/s spikes during playtime.
Why do we need to go to forums for this?
How do you do it?
k thanks
Hello,
I just noticed this was the android section not desktop. Anyhoo, I googled and realized you just need to use either "playlists" or "starred" list of songs... I don't understand the point of having "my music" but then you need to select it again and put it in yet another list to be able to manipulate it and make it available offline.
What gives? Why the weird extra steps? Why not just have a button like on the android app version next to any song/album/whatever?
I'm glad I resurrected this thread though. And I don't feel bad about the odd forum post, because this strikes me as an obvious usability flaw and Spotify oughta learn to get out of its users' way. This is a mini-protest in that regard.
As these little annoyances add up, calculations might eventually favor a competitor, or new way of handling music.
k thanks for listening.
Hello,
I too think this is annoying, is there a way to download all songs to my pc now?
what you can do is go to your list of songs, click any one of the (once) then press " ctrl + a " . this will select all your songs at once, then right click and under add to playlist, click new playlist, you can then make the new playlist with all the songs that were selecteed available offline. although you will have to do the same thing each time you want new music offline (unless you add them to the playlist as you go) hope this helped.
