I cannot play the song I select

Hi, this may sound like a very simple thing. 

I received a link from someone to a Spotify song. I installed it (android), singed up, and it shows me an album. But I can't play the one song I am interested in.

Next I selected the song and added to a new play list.  When I play that play list (with one song) it plays all sorts of songs, but not the song I added.

Please help.....

You can’t stream specific songs on demand on mobile without a premium subscription. Try listening on a PC or tablet instead.
