Jumpy Playback on HTC One X

Jumpy Playback on HTC One X

Ok... I guess I'll just write all this out again then as pressing 'post' apparently means 'delete everything I've just written' Spotify sure are on a winning streak today ^^

So I'm having a problem with my offline playlists on HTC One X playing back jerky (like it's having problems buffering). It seems to be affecting almost every song and it's completely ruining my enjoyment of listening to music.

I have a premium account and I put all my offline playlists into a playlist folder. (Because for some reason that's the only way to play all offline tracks from multiple playlists, together on mobile). I have quality set to normal. Music syncs to my SD card which is only about half full. I've tested playing music from the SD card on other players and it works fine. I keep the app set to 'offline mode' when I'm using it because I often use it underground and for some reason, signal cutting in and out seems to confuse it, and I keep the 'gapless playback' setting off.

Any suggestions on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated, otherwise I guess I'll just have to cancel my subscription and get my music from elsewhere 😕

Thanks

I second this. Same phone, same issues. And add my wifes HTC One X to the list too.

Incredibly frustrating especially since this issue is new. Been a premium customer from the word go. I don't know why a 'premium' customer is frustrated...

Hello,

Are you streaming over 3G or Wi-Fi?
Airhorn Enthusiast

Not streaming at all. As stated this is an issue with playlists synced to play offline. Occurring with spotify music and 'local' tracks

I do apologise, my eyes must have blanked that bit. And Gapless is turned off, yes? How about Crossfade? One thing you might want to try is syncing at high or extreme quality instead - This might stop this skipping.

Hi, don't worry I know the feeling xD

Yep, gapless and crossfade both off. Tried high and extreme quality, same issues 😞

Hmm. Would there be any other applications on your device taking up some CPU / memory usage, causing Spotify to skip? You could try closing down other applications and seeing if these offline tracks still play up.

Hey there. What firmware version are you guys on? There were reports of this happening on early versions of the HOX firmware (which might not have been updated yet if you are waiting for carrier updates) where this issue occurred when Beats Audio or other audio enhancements were turned on - are you using them, and if so can you try turning them off?

I'm not sure if my my problem is exactly the same as this one, but here goes.

When I am running and listening to spotify on my HTC one XL the track sometimes jumps to the next one after only a few seconds -- sometimes each track lasts about 10 secs, or maybe 30, but if the app starts behaving it doesn't stop (ie every track skips).

I am also running Runkeeper at the same time, but "usually" this doesn't cause any issues.

I'm sure you can imagine that this behaviour is really irritating, because I can't exactly stop what I am doing and restart the app etc while running!!

Any suggestions?
