Hello, I use spotify connect to operate an android phone with speakers in another room.  I control it with my own android phone.

The problem I have is spotify auto shuts down on the device with speakers . So I have to go in and physically restart it.

I have altered all the battery saving settings to allow spotify to run in the background,  but every time I go back to it, its closed again.

I want it to remain discoverable by my handheld phone , but it keeps disappearing until I go in and restart

I notice it does this on my handheld as well, is this a feature of spotify?

Hey there @billy90!

Thanks for reaching out to us and welcome to the Community!

Connect has a timeout feature, which means that after your music has been paused for 10 minutes the connected device will no longer show as active.

If you have trouble controlling the devices even when music has been playing continuously, we'd recommend clearing your cache with the steps here.

It's also a good idea to restart your devices and your router to make sure everything is synced up.

Keep us in the loop!

Oh well I suppose there are more important things for me to worry about.

Thanks for the reply though.

Just as an after thought, could this timeout be optional in future releases?

I don't see the relevance of a timeout.

For example, Im downstairs now, it would be nice to put the music on upstairs,  where I left it,  Without having to go upstairs.

Thanks.
