My Question or Issue

Since the most recent update I'm having unusual issues with the Android app. It's very laggy, it frequently says I'm offline even though I'm not, sometimes it just gets stuck on a black screen and I have to restart it. Cover art often doesn't load. Sometimes I hit pause and it takes up to 20 seconds for the song to actually stop playing, even if I close the app. I'm not getting notifications for new releases anymore.

 

I've been using Spotify on this phone for 5 years and I never had problems like this until the update. This is version 8.8.66.563. Data saver is off.

Thanks for the post.

 

Sorry to hear that you're having such issues with the latest release of the app. It's possible that the problems are caused by some corrupted app cache on your device, so I'd recommend running a clean reinstall, by following this Spotify guide.

 

Also, make sure that you have enough free space on your device. For general usage, the Spotify app requires at least 3 GB of free space to function properly.

 

I've also made sure to pass on your feedback about the latest update to the right folks at Spotify.

Thanks for your help, a reinstall helped! And the notifications are back too, I think that was unrelated to the lag issue but I'm glad they're back.
