Recently I've noticed that Spotify keeps crashing on Android, It doesn't matter if I'm in an online playlist or an offline synced one.
It suddenly stops playing and I need to force it tio stop from my Android settings menu.
I'm on Android 4.4.2 and Spotify version 1.1.1.162
Any help would be greatly appreciated, use this daily...
best regards,
Sven
Could you try a clean reinstall. Follow the steps in this post to make sure all traces of spotify have been removed.
What device are you using and do you have an external SD card?
But if you followed my instructions, everything would have been deleted. Can you confirm you followed all the steps in my post, including deleting any spotify folders on both internal and external storge?
Hi Joe,
Yes, I did indeed remove spotify and used a file explorer to remove any traces of it.
It was gone. I checked the SD card as well, but it was never on there so I could not find it there.
Then I reinstalled it, resynced my playlists and was back to the problems.
So you reformatted the external SC card too? What device are you using? Does it work without the SD card?
No I did not reformat the SD card, I never used spotify on there and there was no trace of spotify on there. There are other files on there though.
I'm using spotify on a 3 month old HTC one M8, I have not tried it without the SD card... I use my SD card for file storage and such
Please use the online contact form and someone at Spotify can help get this sorted. If you get an automated response directing you back to the community or to the help pages, please reply to it by email and you will hear back from one of the team shortly.

Please read the guide linked below for details on getting a completely clean install of the Spotify app. This should be the first step and can help resolve issues such as:
- Black screen on startup
- Offline data not storing on SD card
- Random crashes or FC's
- Track degradation or skipping
- Playlists and tracks no longer available
