Lockscreen notification killing battery on Nougat

Lockscreen notification killing battery on Nougat

Hello, I wasn't able to find a topic similar or related to this.

I'm using Nougat on a Huawei P9 and the lockscreen notification keeps turning the screen on everytime a song is played or changed when playing music on my computer.

Basically, if Spotify is open on my phone and I'm playing music on my computer, it'll notifyme every song. Even if I close the app the notification will still pop up. I have to manually kill the whole Spotify process so it doesn't kill my battery, which is really annoying.

Is there a way that Spotify won't notifyme if I'm playing music on other devices? Kinda annoying to have my phone turning on every time I change a song on my computer.

Edit: Also the lockscreen notifications is really glitchy. I can't use the controlls properly, sometimes it hits play when I hit the forward button and stuff like that.

Thanks!

Hey @ofobarher, welcome to the Spotify Community!

To start, can you let us know what version of Spotify you're using?

I suggest you try a clean reinstall and see if it helps. This usually fixes most problems 🙂

Note: This will remove any saved offline tracks and cache.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks for your reply, I've tried a clean reinstall, and I'm on the latest version that's on the Play Store, 7.5.0.1076 with no luck.

I also found a beta of version 7.6.0.1196. Thought I'd give it a try to see if that helped but no, it keeps turning my screen on everytime a new song is played or paused on my computer.

Have the same problems *Huawei p9 *
