Metedatachanged broadcast receiver

Metedatachanged broadcast receiver

Your intent-filter action (com.spotify.mobile.android.metadatachanged) is still buggy.

It will only broadcast when a user repeatedly click on the same song. This feature is already there, it just needs to be properly implemented.

Hey, I don't understand the technical stuff but at least I know why musixmatch doesn't work properly any more for me. I'm going to escalate this to the spotify team as a bug. Thanks 🙂

I'm so so irritated by this.

Trying to build an Offline Last.FM Scrobbler for Spotify, but I don't know which intent to use to get the artist/track/album name.

I even tried to read the app's sticky notification using NotificationServiceListener (4.3+) and get the data, but it's so hacky and doesn't work properly.

This is my first ever Android app and I'm stuck right here. 😞

Interestingly I found an Android app which perfectly gets the track/album/artist data from Spotify https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=gonemad.dashclockmusicextension&hl=en. No idea how the developer is able to achieve that. I tried the app and it works well.

Does this help at all?

Nope, don't think so.

It only explains how any Music Player app can support his app and send data to it. (sending a broadcast, technically speaking)

I asked the developer on Twitter if he used any Spotify intent, let's see if he replies.

@vivir
Did you get the broadcast intent to work?
