Moving (and irritating) track info ticker

Moving (and irritating) track info ticker

Hi, for the android version, does anyone else find it annoying that when you select a new track, the track ticker races in from the side with the new track info, rather than like before where it was instantly replaced? The movement in the corner of your eye forces your attention onto it, and this annoys me. If I want to look at it, I know where it is, I don't need to be nagged to look at it even when I don't want to.

Similarly, when having had your phone on locked and opening up spotify again, the track info will again race in from the side, so as to force you to attend to it. I also find this unecessarily annoying.

Surely this bothers other people too?

I understand that advertisers want to use such tactics to force you to attend to their ad, but it is so very unnecessary and pointless in spotify as there is no advantage to anyone that you be nagged and pestered to look at the track info, when if you want to you will do so anyway.

I would like the track ticker to be like the way it used to be, where there was no corner of the eye movement.

Thanks

Where are you seeing this exactly? I only get scrolling in the now playing bar if the title/artist is too long to fit.

Hi Joe,

Yes, it's called the now playing bar, right.

It seems that all of the songs I play have very long titles, artists, etc.
I like classical music a lot. So it does scroll from right to left, and it
moves in the way that I said when you jump to another track. And I find
that annoying, especially when it doesn't need to be there.

Please see the attached screenshot. You can see that there is a lot of
information there. And when you move to another track, the new info will
race in from the side and catch the corner of your eye and so intrude into
your attention.

I would have thought that other people would have noticed it (and annoyed
them) before.

What do you think?

Thanks, Luke

I don't have the screen on when I listen to music but, I prefer it if long titles scroll rather than just getting truncated. I think seeing the full track details is even more useful for classical.

Hi Joe,

I don't mind the scrolling of the track info, I'm not complaining about that. Rather, it is when you select a new song, or open up the phone from a locked state into spotify, that new track info will race in from the side, at a completely different speed from normal scrolling, to replace the track info that you last looked at.
