My Question or Issue

Everyone is talking about not wanting music to automatically play when connecting a Bluetooth device, and here I am actively wanting the feature and it isn't working. Everything I've looked at online points to it having to be either a setting on the Bluetooth device or the media app being used. I've checked my headphone all thoroughly and I have the option to automatically play/pause media turned on there, so now I'm looking to Spotify. Is there anything I can do to get it working? I've also made sure the app has full background permissions and no battery restrictions so it shouldn't be going to sleep.

Hi @ravynb!

I've noticed that Spotify continues the playback where you left off when you connect your device to a car's head unit. When I'm at home and I connect my phone to my integrated amp (or earbuds) via Bluetooth, Spotify won't start playing automatically, as in your case.

This could, of course, depend on the particular device you're connecting to, but if you'd like to see such feature in the app in general, feel free to submit an idea about it here - others can then add their votes and comments to show their support. Just make sure to familiarize yourself with the Idea Exchange Guidelines before posting.

Cheers!
