My Question or Issue

OK so I drive LOADS of different cars - it's my job. I deliver them from one place to another. It's a lot of driving and I use my phone as a satnav (google maps). I have Spotify as my preferred music app in Maps Navigation.

Sometimes, I just want peace and quiet, so I pause the music. But if someone texts me, or calls me, or a news article pings, or ANYTHING like that; the music starts playing again immediately the sound of the notification has finished.

Not only that! When I say "OK Google", the music immediately starts playing YET AGAIN. Until the Assistant takes over.

Now I don't know if this is an Android issue, a Bluetooth issue, a Spotify issue, or a Google Maps issue; but it sure is **bleep** irritating.

Also, I am CERTAIN there used to be a setting to switch this on and off but I cannot find it ANYWHERE.

Can anyone please help?

Hey there @stonelaughter,

Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community.

Can you let us know if this still happens when you completely close the Spotify app on your phone?

It's also worth reinstalling the apps. You can follow these steps to run a clean reinstall of the Spotify app. This is more thorough than a regular one and can be helpful to get rid of any cached files that might be causing trouble.

If the issue persists, could you let us know when it started happening and if it was after a specific event, such as an app or OS update?

If possible, could you try with a different phone and let us know if this behavior persists?

Keep us posted. We'll be on the lookout.
