My new Samsung phone won't play on my NAD 658 receiver

My new Samsung phone won't play on my NAD 658 receiver

My Question or Issue

My Galaxy S21 worked playing Spotify music with no problem on my stereo. I then get a new Galaxy S24 Plus phone which transferred everything over to the new phone and it won't play. It shows up on the display on my NAD and music is playing on my phone but no sound out of the speakers. It will play music on the phone speaker and on my wireless headphones. I uninstaled Spotfiy and reinstalled it on my phone and it still does not work on my stereo. I have BlueOS on my NAD and I tried to have it play music from that app which goes to Spotify. Spotfiy sees the stereo and says its connected but no sound.

It should be noted that I had no problem playing music through Tidal with my phone, but not with Spotify. Any idea of any settings I should check to see why its not playing. And yes the volume is up on the stereo and I don't see the music being muted on my phone.

Hey @buccigm,

Thanks for posting this thread and we appreciate you sending all of the details, because it helps us get a better understanding of the situation 🙂

To start and if you haven't already done this, could you make sure there aren't any pending OS updates on the devices? You mentioned that you've reinstalled Spotify which would indicate you're using the newest version so that's always a good idea to begin.

Additionally, you can also check out some of the details and troubleshooting steps shared by our mods and other users in this thread and give them a try in case any of them make a difference for you. It'd be very helpful if you could share what you've tried in your next response so we can avoid repeating any of the steps.

We'll be on the lookout!

I also tried connecting to my other older Android phone with Spotify to my NAD 658 preamp. It also shows the song being played on the phone but no sound. Based on this observation, this appears to be a NAD issue with BluOS and their latest software. Hopefully they can come out with a fix soon
