Hi @r2r and welcome to the community 🙂

Does your device have any internal/external sd card? If it doesn't, Spotify will throw a hissy fit.

I'll ask the Spotify team - it shouldn't be happening 😉

Liam

just internal storage; no external sd card

thank you liam

I'm having the exact same problem - it's pretty clear that its a bug in the latest update which addresses issues with SD Cards on KitKat. But i've been asked by spotify via my Play store review, to state the problem on here.

I'm having the issue with a Nexus 7 -  and like the poster; this device doesn't have an SD card slot either, just internal storage. I have plenty of storage space. And the app IS installed, the ERROR is displayed on open: "We found no place to store our data, please check that you have a working SD card and free space" - Screenshot attached.

It's ridiculous that this needs explanation really, their own release notes state the changes they've made to handling of SD cards on KitKat. FIX IT!

Hi Liam, r2r,

I am having the same issue soon as I upgraded today to kitkat . This is samsung s3 (sprint) version, with 32 GB internal and no external storage. I have close to 20 gb free space in my internal one.

I have also tried to restart /reboot/factory rest/clear data all sorts of things, with no luck.

Thanks for looking into it. Hope the Spotify team fixes tis fast.
