New version won't close on S3 running Android 4.3

Solved!

New version won't close on S3 running Android 4.3

Hi,

After updating to the latest version, the icon in the upper left hand corner of the screen refuses to go away. And opening task manager shows spotify in progress but I can't terminate the program. Does anybody have the same issues?

Samsung Galaxy S3

Android 4.3 - non-rooted device

Regards

Andreas

I uninstalled and reinstalled, then cleared data and mine is acting better now. Fingers crossed...

I was doing OK with the new version UNTIL I got an update of an even newer one pushed late Wed. A variety of things go wrong. The music bar at the bottom sometimes disappears. Screen flashes and music cuts out sometimes.

This is with I9300 on 4.2.2.

I have the same problem.  my spotify doesnt really even work, it resets every 10 seconds, and leaves the notification icon on the top left corner.  I have to force stop the app to get it to go away.

samsung galaxy s3.

It feels like they, in a panic move because of the security breach, released this updated version without proper testing. Hopefully will get a working solution within a couple of days, but this pisses me off greatly. They basically made the application useless.

Yea, did that too. So far so good. Will kep you guys updated here if the problem persists.

I am starting to wonder if all android users at least those now compatible with at least the ARMv7 processors need to just do an uninstall and clean up the remaining old and messed up new spotify app stuff left over, and then just reinstall the new app from the app store.

Information here at this thread http://community.spotify.com/t5/Help-Android/Android-Troubleshooting-Spotify/td-p/113082 might just save some users their sanity. A nice fresh clean removal of all the spotify app stuff and install the new app again. Can't hurt.
