Newbie- Cant find categories

I just got spotify and now I cant seem to find the categories list (R&B,Soul,Rock)

can someone help please?

Hi, and welcome to the community!

Don't worry, it isn't the most obvious thing I've ever seen.

You can search for genres like that by searching (top right of the client) for:

genre:genrename

for example, you can search for genre:R&B or genre:pop etc.

Unfortunately it doesn't work with all genres, but if you have an idea as to how to enhance the method of searching, feel free to submit it to the ideas section of the community.

Here you go. 

To search for two-word genres, you can do it by typing the following into the search bar:

genre:”Appalachian Folk”

Just replace that last bit with any genre from the list.

There is a clickable list I was using here:

If you want to retain access to that, please make a copy and host it somewhere. It will be disappearing some time within the next 2 weeks or so.

It should work with Android and Windows but I don't know about the other clients.

I've saved the meat (genre links only) here, if anyone wants it. The file's only 83KB so should open on any device.
