Seeing the same issue with 4.1 (JellyBean) on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. At times, the same song will repeat, even if the app is not on repeat. Happens for playlist and radio.

Hi. Another thought ... Check in wifi advanced settings to make sure wifi is set to never sleep - some phones have this as the default setting when the screen goes off

Hello,

I've already stated that it was already done :

"Wifi is set to always activated in sleep mode."

Sorry didn't see that. Just tried it on my N7 and, while I only played three tracks, it did seem to work ok

Where the track offline or in cache (already played not long ago?). I suspect that this only happens when the app need to stream. Have you tried with radio ? I'll upload it video soon.

BTW is there a way to activate debug traces in spotify ? I believe it could help the developers understanding the problems.

I picked an album I have never listening to in Spotify so it was definitely streaming.

OK. Here's a video of the problem : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HAvRp2PVAsY

I've found out that even by skipping near the end of the track and manually locking the screen I'm able to reproduce the defect. I could have waited more between tracks and it wouldn't have started.

This has happened since my HTC Evo (and now I am on a Galaxy Nexus).  If the playlist is not downloaded and I'm on wifi, it won't advance to the next song and often stops playing while in a song altogether.  If I have wifi off, it works fine.

It's odd, because Spotify is the only app that seems to have trouble streaming with the screen off on wifi.

Hello,

Now that I've used the troubleshouting guide, that I created a new thread using template, that I've uploaded a video of the problem and that other users have confirmed that they have the same issue, would someone official acknowledge and actually help on solving this issue ?

Is there a way to activate traces/debug log that could help someone for support or developers to identify the defect ?

It also happens with my Galaxy Nexus on Jelly Bean !

Support, where are you ?

same issue, with  CM10 Rom, seems to be a problem with Jelly Bean. and knowing Spotify will not be fixed untill just about the next version of Android is out.

I am running Jelly Bean (stock rooted) and I do not have this issue.  My app always advances to the next song.

I wanted to throw in that I have this problem on my nexus 7 too; my setup is exact to the OP.

One additional item that I experienced was that the song currently playing would start to skip if the screen was off for a prolonged period of time. The term "Prolonged" is a bit relative since the issue will start occuring during the same song that the screen went to sleep on, so I am really talking about a matter of a at most a couple of minuites.

Given that my setup is exact to the OP, you can be assured that I am talking about 'radio' mode, so I am talking about streaming, and that my Wifi is set to always on during sleep.

Still not fixed with latest update...

I've tried to use this application : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ratcash.wifiperf

It seems to bypass this spotify bug! Can someone else confirm this ?

Same problem with my new google nexus 7.

Radio stop when tablet go to sleep mode.

Really boring.

Nexus 7 stock rom, bought 2 days ago, up to date.

after some test, in sleep mode, the next song is played by jerks, 2 or 3 s music all the white 20sec => streaming problem.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ratcash.wifiperf in precedent message, temporary fix the problem, but I definitely DO NOT want my battery drain for spotify.

A real fix would be cool.

According to the app comments, it could be a problem with whatever wifi router you're using. Some of them - apparently - struggle with devices using power management. That app fixed the problem for me though. I was getting stuttering within tracks, sometimes pauses for as longer 10/15 seconds, and long pauses between tracks, within minutes of turning the screen off. That little app has fixed it for me, so thanks for the link!

This is not a problem with the WiFi router (since other streaming apps are working), it's a problem with the Spotify app which does not registers as " in need of a solid network connection" to android. This app does it in its place.
