Nexus 5 Home Screen Widget GONE w/ Android Lollipop 5.1

I've seen posts about people not seeing the lock screen widget, but after a new install with Android 5.1 on my Nexus 5, going into my widgets for my homescreen, the Spotify widget is not in sight. I have uninstalled Spotify and reinstalled thinking that may resolve the issue, but it is still gone. Not sure if its and Android 5.1 issue or if Spotify has completly removed the homescreen widget. Anyone else having this issue?

If you've set security up you may have to change the permissions for Spotify Notifications in the Android Settings - Sounds & Notifications screen. Som checks to make and guide on how to do this in the below linked guide:

No security settings have been modified after a fresh install, and the Spotify app notifications are not blocked, but still not sure why that would affect a home screen widget from disappearing...do you know if it was removed in a recent update?

Nope, I stil have it on my M8 running 5.0.1 Lollipop and v2.3.0 of the Spotify app. Are you using a custom Launcher? If not, can you try one such as Nova and see if that allows you to add a widget to the launcher screen?

Figured it out. I restarted my phone after the Spotify install and there was the widget! Thank you for your help.
