I can login to spotify on my laptop, but not my smartphone, using the same email address and password

We'd recommend you try Logging out Everywhere and then running a clean reinstall of the app on your phone. This includes deleting all app data and cache. Follow the steps here for best results.

If you still can't log in after that upload a screenshot of the error message you see with your next reply.
