No longer supported (Gingerbread)

I'm on a free plan with Spotify currently, trying to upgrade to premium at some point. 

My issue is the Spotify app on android 2.3.4 keeps crashing half the time I try to search for a song or artist. Any suggestions?

It says here that spotify requires Android OS 4.1 or above. 500 MB free space so I guess it's time for an upgrade.

Check the Android 2.3.4 store (if you even can), its 26mb and official. I'm not sacrificing my slider keyboard/smartphone. I can't go any higher than this OS version without rooting or installing a ROM on my phone.
