Unfortunately, we've been waiting more than 7 months for a response on a vital feature that was removed from Android and they won't acknowledge whether it's a bug, intentional, or will ever be fixed: http://community.spotify.com/t5/Help-Android/Search-history-on-Andriod/td-p/575104

Gotta do what I can! I'm honestly shocked it hasn't been resolved one way or the other and I've still been paying all these months. If I can prevent one person from becoming a stooge like me, at least I'll have done something positive with this issue. Unlike the Spotify dev. team :$
I have an iPhone though. Premium service came on after about 7 hours of waiting and reinstalling and fidgeting, all which was probably futile. Most likely it was just slow to give me back my premium access. I was going to let it all slide and be done with it, but I got off work today to hit the gym and WHAM I got slammed with that god awful NAPA auto parts ad and the ungodly 6 track skip limit. Lo and behold I lost my premium access. This is kind of driving me ape **bleep**. I use spotify everywhere I go. Car, house, exercise... I feel super betrayed dudes! Can we please start a thread just troll bombing these **bleep**ers to open up a phone rep group. My god, Verge came out with an article today saying that Apple is considering Spotify a competitor to iTunes. Can Spofitfy get it together? I'm all for the Spotify wave, but I'm out if this keeps happening. I'll just go back to pirating music....moral of the story, after reinstalling the desktop app and the phone app and turning my phone and computer on and off (who knows what would work, I almost considered doing a rain dance or something else psychotic) the app finally recognized my royal elite badass status of PREMIUM GODNESS and now I'm back to loving it. But god, the pain still lingers from when they left me cold and hungry... 😞
We know exactly how you feel. And we've been paying for seven months after they removed an essential feature with no acknowledgment. I cannot say whether any other streaming company has better service, but I can't imagine it being worse.
