Offline mode with new mobilephone

Offline mode with new mobilephone

Hello,

I changed my mobil from Galaxy S4 to Galaxy S5. At S4 I had had offline music stored at the micro SD card.

Now, at my new S5, there is no offline music avaiable?! It seems, that spotify doesn't recognized the SD-card?!

Can anyone help please!!??

Thanks!

From what you state, I am guessing that you have put the SD card from the S4 into the S5, and are expecting Spotify on the S5 to access the music that was saved on the SD card by the S4?

Your problem possibly stems from one of the following causes:

  1. Spotify on the S5 is not recognising the SD card. As you will see from the many posts on this forum, SD card recognition is a common problem with Spotify.
  2. The Spotify app on your S5 cannot map the saved music cache created by your S4 on the card. If you take the time to explore the saved music files with a file manager app or computer, you’ll see that they are in a quite bizarre format, with no recognisable names to the files.

I could suggest a number of things to check and try, but just listing them would take time.

It may actually be quicker and simpler for you to erase the files on the SD card and do a fresh install of the app and re-download on the SD. The method of forcing Spotify to use the SD card requires a fresh install anyway.

Of course this depends on whether you have a limit/cost on your internet data account (for re-downloading your music).

If you are going to do the fresh install and download, let me know and I’ll point you to the instructions to ensure that Spotify will use the SD.
