Old erased local files still showing up in playlists?

Old erased local files still showing up in playlists?

I have multiple playlists on Spotify that include local files not in the Spotify library. I downloaded these local files onto my phone in a playlist. I have now gone through my library and erased many songs on my computer and in the playlists but the songs still show up, but now they are greyed out and I can't play them or erase them. Whenever I am connected to the same wifi as my computer these phantom files will try to download to my phone...without success because the files have been erased.

Even in playlists where I haven't ever downloaded the local files onto my phone then  erased them from my computer I'll still see these old files clogging up the playlist.

Anybody have a fix for this?

Deleting local files on your PC will result in the songs appearing greyed-out in playlists where they were included. There seems to be an occasional bug in the android spotify app which prevents unavailable songs from being deleted from playlists.

The solution is to delete these from playlists using the desktop client on your PC. Your android should resync to show the corresponding playlists without the deleted songs.

I have erased them from all the playlists they are in on my computer, the
problem is they still show up in playlists.

So the android playlists are different from those on your PC? Make sure the desktop client is not offline then try logging out on the android and back in. Spotify on android needs to be online too so it can resync the playlists from Spotify's servers.
