My Question or Issue
I just performed an update to Spotify this morning to version 8.8.20.54. Now, every playlist is on shuffle. Using the shuffle button won't bring it out of shuffle mode. Selecting the big green play button won't bring it out of shuffle, which it has always done. Selecting a particular song to play will not bring it out of shuffle. Extremely annoying.
Edit: I checked and it is also occuring on my Samsung S20FE on One UI 5.1 1 March 2023 update using the same Spotify version.

Waggin' hello to you Laertus!
It sounds like you may be experiencing a bug in the latest version of Spotify. However, another possibility is that you are signed into a free account. With a free account, all playlists are played on shuffle mode by default and you can't play individual songs on demand.
If you are already signed up for Premium, then you can try the steps:
Try restarting the Spotify app: Sometimes, simply restarting the app can help fix issues like this. Close the Spotify app completely and then reopen it.
Check your shuffle settings: Make sure that the shuffle setting is turned off. To do this, go to the playlist you want to listen to and tap the "Shuffle" button. If the shuffle button is green, it is turned on. Tap the button again to turn it off.
Try clearing the app cache: Clearing the app cache can sometimes help fix issues like this. To clear the cache, go to your phone's settings, select "Apps," find the Spotify app, and then select "Storage." From there, tap "Clear Cache."
Reinstall the app: If none of the above steps work, you can try uninstalling and then reinstalling the Spotify app. This will erase all app data, so you may need to log in and set up your account again.
If none of these steps work, you can try reaching out to Spotify Support for further assistance. They may be able to help you troubleshoot the issue and find a solution.
My nose is sniffing for updates, keep me informed!

I logged out and back in and it fixed the issue. Perhaps Spotify logged me in on a free account after a recent power outage.🤷♂️
Yoo the outages been crazy tho!
Hope you surviving okay!

And...it just started happening again, and the shuffle is always the same songs in the same order. Reloghing did not help this time.
Edit: It only appears to be happening when I stream the music to my PS5.
