My Question or Issue

I have a Problem with Spotify Connect, I recently switched to Google Pixel 8 Pro and if I start listening to music with my Denon Home 250 Speaker, via the Spotify Connect feature, the music starts playing with delay + the music plays via the speaker, but also via the phone speakers. If I pause the music, the music stops playing immediately in my phone, but with delay in the speaker. The main problem is for my that the music is playing from both devices - phone and speaker (but also not synchronized, the speaker is with delay), but it should play only via the speaker.

I never had the Issue with my old Huawei Mate 20 Pro and my wife didn't have any issue with a Samsung S23 FE.

I tried the clear uninstall, didn't help. I tried to restart the WiFi router, than the music starts playing only via the speaker, but the playing bar is missing and I can't control the app/music.

Playing via Bluetooth is working fine, but I need the Spotify Connect to work like a remote, that is not working properly.

Can you help me with the issue?

Hi there @SeilsCZ,

Thanks for reaching out to the Community.

Great troubleshooting so far! We appreciate all the details you sent, it helps us avoid repeating steps.

Do you have the chance to try using Spotify Connect from the Pixel device and another speaker that's not the Denon Home speaker? That way we'll know if it's only with that speaker or with Connect on the Pixel phone.

On another note, try logging in with a different account on your phone (Pixel) and check if you can replicate the behavior. If you don't have another account, you can ask a relative or friend to log in with their account to check.

Lastly, we understand you already restarted your router, but it's also a good idea to check if you observe the same delay when the devices are connected to a different network. A mobile hotspot is usually a convenient way to test this.

Let us know how that goes.

Hi Susan,

Thank you very much for your help and Tips what to try.

I don’t have (yet) a second WiFi speaker, but the spotify connect is working fine with Pixel and my smart android TV Sony. There is no delay. I could try a Bluetooth speaker, but Bluetooth connection worked also with the Denon.

I tried to get from friends a second account, I didn’t want to try it with my Family members, but with someone outside my home. I Logged out, but in the end, I didn’t find anyone with an account – but as I have logged back in, it was working fine. I didn’t get it, because the clean uninstall didn’t help, but it help be logged out for several minutes. It was working yesterday evening and also now. So I feel a little bit stupid, but it is working😊

So thank you for you tips, I wouldn’t try to log out without you, because I have removed the application and install it back + logged in.

Best regards,

Tom
