My Question or Issue

My Play bar disappears on my app regularly the only way I can get it back is by opening the desktop app changing device to desktop app and then back to the phone then the bar reappears after I press play in a playlist.  See attached screenshot of playlist supposedly playing but no play bar.

This happens even when my desktop app is closed even computer off.

The little music bars still bounce on the playlist like the music is playing but there is no sound an any device.

This is extremely annoying especially when I am not home and cannot play music again until I get back to my PC and perform the fix as per above. Even restarting phone or reinstalling the app does not fix this only using the desktop app as described above.

Please assist me.

My Question or Issue

After relun the app and trying to skip the song that was played in the last session it doesn't go to the next song from the playlist. The player in the bottom of the app screen disappears but the animation of the song playing on the playlist remains (screenshot 1). If try to do it while the player is opened this happens (screenshot 2). Also when trying to continur playing from the notification bar app same happens, song plays till the end then nothing. Reeboot of the device and reinstallation of the app didn't help.

Hi folks,

Thanks for your posts. Sorry to hear that this is happening with your apps.

Can you please run a clean reinstall, making sure you wipe all app data and cache before installing the app. You can follow this guide

If the Now Playing bar disappears after that again, please provide us with the following info, if you already haven't:

  • Device model and OS version
  • Spotify app version
  • Does the play bar disappear straight away when you open the app?

Keep us posted.

I followed those steps (minus deleting the folder as I don't think that works in Android 13) and I am experiencing the same issue. I linked my post with a video of the exact reproducable issue above. I have a Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G (SM-G990U) Android 13 Security Patch October 1st. Kernel is 5.4.17. Spotify 8.7.90.544. The play bar dissappear after the previous song interrupted when the app is closed has finished, or been skipped.

Experiencing the same issue after the last Spotify update. Clearing storage, cache, reinstall, reboot did not work. Please resolve!

My Question or Issue

I am using the latest version of the Spotify App(8.7.90.544).

Occasionally the next song in the playlist does not play and the Current Playing Bar at the bottom disappears. I followed the advice in the older post(Submitted by Mario on 2022-04-10). This did not help.

I then kept the app in the foreground and fortunately could see that the current playing UI sinking and disappearing when the song ends. But the animation on the playlist is still moving and the notification tray shows the last song that was playing. (I took a screenshot as well)

It's annoying as I need to kill and relaunch the app or find the playlist I was listening to and try and resume from the last song.

I followed all these steps and the problem was fixed for 2 days now its back again.

What is the fix?
