Playing downloaded playlists, Spotify Premium still using lots of data

I have Premium Spotify, but Spotify is still using up a lot of data whilst I'm playing playlists in my car that I have downloaded to my phone at home over Wi-Fi. I am sometimes removing songs from the playlist when out and about. The setting on Spotify 'Download using Cellular' is Off. What is the problem?

Set your device to offline mode and it will stop using data and wifi. The reason to still use data when removing songs is possibly to sync your account so the song will be removed from all your devices.
