Please make it possible to remove widget on Android 11

Please make it possible to remove widget on Android 11

Please make it an option to remove widget from screen. Even if you go to widgets and switch it off, or turn off all notifications from Spotify, it's still there. Many people have complained about this, please do something about it.

Hi there @_glofire,

Thanks for reaching out to the Community!

We moved your post from Ideas to a relevant Help board as we need a bit more info about what's going on.

To confirm, are you referring to a widget in the Home screen of your phone? Could you send us a screenshot so we can have a better look at it?

We'll be looking out for your reply to see what we can suggest.

**bleep** PLEEEEAAAASSSEEE get this OFF my screen!! I KNOW I'm listening to Spotify. I don't need a symbol/widget on my screen at all times.

  1. Not sure if you received a reply and example from _glofire, so here's my example... This pops up constantly and most of the time when I attempt to delete the notification itself with the garbage can in the middle of my screen it closes Spotify. So I have to keep it on my screen in order to keep the app open.

It's very frustrating...

Hope this helps!

Thanks.

Hey there @Jestertrent

Thanks for getting in touch about this here in the Community.

We suggest that you head over to Settings in your phone and enter Picture in picture in the Search bar:

Then, tap on Picture-in-picture in the list:

There, you'll see a list of the apps which have this option enabled. Check if Spotify is listed there and toggle it off.

Let us know how it goes.
