My Question or Issue
I listen to a lot of podcasts on my phone, either by the speaker or via my car's Bluetooth. However the progress of my podcasts is constantly lost. If I pause a podcast and lock my phone, or switch to another app, or close Spotify completely, after a few minutes the podcast progress will be lost and reset to the beginning. It's incredibly infuriating, especially when connecting to my car and I just want to drive. But no, I have to wait, use my phone, skip through the podcast to a point I recognise and carry on from there. I don't know exactly the minute/second I was up to because I've quickly paused the app, or come back to it after a day's work. So manually finding the position again is so annoying.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app and reset the settings, with no effect.
I'm using the latest version of the Android app at the time of writing (8.5.21.754)
Any updates to this issue? I’m having this exact problem today 2022-04-11. It’s been like this for about a week. I’m on an iPhone XR.
If you’re going to buy up podcasts and remove them from other platforms like Apple’s, make sure your player is as good OR BETTER beforehand. Come on guys. Step up.
Hi there @chiller15 and @Castinho,
Thank you for reaching out to the Community. We just came across this thread.
Can you let us know if this occurs with one specific podcast or multiple podcasts?
On another note, it's worth performing a clean reinstall of the app as this will make sure there's no old cache files causing this.
We'll keep an eye out for your replies.
Take care!
Hello!
I’m only listening to the JRE podcast on Spotify at the moment. So just 1 for now.
Hey @Castinho,
Thank you for keeping in contact.
To keep investigating this issue, would you mind checking with a different podcast to see if it makes any difference?
Also, could you confirm if you've followed these steps for a clean reinstall? Since they are more thorough than a regular one, you can make sure the cache is not causing this issue with the JRE podcast.
Hope it helps. We'll be waiting for your response.

Hello again!
the issue went away by itself about a week ago. Forgot to reply. I didn’t do anything different. Didn’t reinstall the app either.
thanks!
