My Question or Issue

Sometimes (not always) when casting a podcast from phone to device the forward 15 seconds button actually goes backwards.

Thank you for posting on the Community. 

 

This is actually quite odd, and we haven't seen any other reports about this, nor have we been able to reproduce it, so we can try some troubleshooting steps here.

 

To start, let us know if you've already tried performing a clean reinstall of the app. This one is more thorough than a regular one and can be helpful to get rid of any cache that might be causing trouble. 

 

If this doesn't work, could you try casting your podcasts from a different device to check if the issue persists?

I have tried that but don't have another device to cast from.

It does seem random but it's just happened again and I paid more attention
to the time stamp. It's not literally going back 15 seconds; it skips back
several minutes. All I can think is the position is out of sync between my
phone and the device and thus it is going forward, but from an earlier
point. Sometimes it stays stuck like that, so if I press forward it goes
back, but today it didn't. It went back once and then went forward.

Could you connect your devices to a different WIFI/mobile network and test them again to see if the issue persists? 

 

Also, please try playing a podcast directly from your Google Home/Mini and use voice commands such as "Ok Google, go forward" or "Ok Google, go forward 15s", does the issue persist this way?
